What is catchment management?
Catchment management is balancing the use and conservation of natural resources on a whole of catchment basis. Catchment management is achieved through the combined efforts of the community, government and non-government organisations working together towards common and sustainable aims to achieve this balance.
The prime responsibilities of Wimmera CMA are the health of land and water in our catchment region and promoting sustainable and productive land use practices. This is achieved through local programs that identify and address improvements in the region’s natural assets. This includes:

It provides a vision for the future landscape of the Wimmera based on good science and local commitment to a sustainable landscape improvement.
